Introducing vs. Mode

We released a new update at the end of February (yes, I'm again late in writing release notes and the blog post). Honestly the absolute biggest changes in this update is performance improvements for those of you that have hundreds (or even thousands of pins). But I'll start with the main new feature: VS mode in sharing view

VS Mode in Sharing

Sharing your Pin Traveler map has allowed your friends to see your map & pins for a long time now. With our previous update, we added your profile & stat cards here as well. Now, you can see how your map and stats stak up against those of your friends! Tap the "VS mode" button in sharing to see your friend's vs. your profile. Your pins/stats/countries will be red, theirs yellow, and the shared ones a pinkish orange.

Performance Improvements

We talk about performance improvements almost every update, and it's never a lie, we constantly keep tweaking things to make Pin Traveler more performant for everyone. This time around though, we did an almost ground-up rewrite of our core datatypes and cloud-sync algorithms to completely revamp our performance. The app now opens up in less than a second for most users. Even for those of you that have thousands of pins, this should take no more than 5-10 seconds. For some power users, this used to be up to a minute!

We rewrote our map tab as well, this time actually from the ground-up. Scrolling the map is now much smoother, and some niche bugs like "wishlisted country pins not opening the details card" are history. Please let us know if you find any other bugs!
