Places just got a lot better -- And more to come!
This update took us way longer than expected, because we created more than 40 new place types with accompanying icons! We've also patched some nasty bugs, and built a couple subtle but important enhancements. Pin Traveler Android also just received a huge trips update. Keep reading for more!
Place Icons
We created more than 40 place types with accompanying icons for this release. From restaurants to bars, bridges to parks, you have a lot of place types to choose from. Showing category-specific icons on the place map was a feature we've been talking about for a while, and I'm super stoked it's finally here! Most of your old places should automatically get the correct icons, but check out the "customize" page to select another one if you'd like. Transit Days in Trips
"Transit days" is a feature that's been requested by a number of users ever since we introduced multi-stop trips, and here they are. You can add as many transit days as you'd like on your trip, and add details to a transit day just as you'd a regular stop. It's a great tool especially if you're tracking cruises or sailing trips.
Trips in Android
Our Android app now supports multi-stop trips, just like iOS. This was one of the main discrepancies for the two platforms, and we're glad it's finally rectified! We promised this (and other improvements) for Android in March, but it took almost a complete rewrite of our application engine to get here. Thanks for the patience!
Bug Fixes & More
A huge thank you to all our users who file bug reports! We are always testing (and otherwise using) Pin Traveler ourselves, but it really takes thousands of users to rigorously test all the scenarios that could go wrong.
